Commercial FAQ
Practical answers about trials, license keys, IP limits and the error messages you may see. Every limit described here is enforced by the license server; see License Activation for the configuration itself.
Trials
How many free trials can I get?
One trial per plan, per customer account. The rule is enforced on the account, so a second request for the same plan is rejected with:
You have already used a trial for this plan
Because the check is per plan, one account can still trial Enterprise PBX and VoIP Wholesale. Call Center AI has no self-service trial at all. See 7-Day Free Trial.
Does the trial require a credit card?
No. The trial is free, requires only a registered account, and produces a key immediately on the Try page.
What happens when the 7-day trial expires?
The key stops validating and reports “License has expired”. The commercial addons it covered are no longer licensed, but your configuration, database and recordings are untouched. Buying a plan and renewing the key extends its expiry — you do not have to reconfigure anything. See Pricing.
Keys and machines
How many machines can use one key?
It depends on the key’s maximum IP count:
- Trial keys are limited to 1 IP.
- Keys created by an administrator default to 0, which means unlimited.
- Paid keys are configured per customer and may be any number in between.
The limit counts distinct client IP addresses seen during license verification, not machines as such. Two nodes behind the same NAT egress IP count as one; one node that changes public IP counts as two.
Can I move a key to another machine?
Yes, with a caveat. Verification records each new IP the key is seen from. If the new machine presents an IP that is not yet recorded and you are already at the limit, verification is rejected with:
Maximum IP limit reached (N IPs allowed)
A key that is already at its limit cannot be moved by editing config alone — ask support to free the unused IP or raise max_ip_count. A trial key, being limited to 1 IP, will hit this as soon as it is used from a second public IP.
Repeated use from an IP that is already recorded is fine; it just refreshes that entry’s last-seen time and usage count.
Does the license server see my calls or data?
No. Verification sends the license key string to the license server; nothing else about your deployment is transmitted. The result is cached in memory, so verification happens at startup rather than continuously.
Can I run a cluster?
Yes. Each node verifies independently, so a cluster of N nodes with distinct public IPs presents N distinct IPs to the license server. Size your key’s IP allowance accordingly, or run behind a shared egress IP.
Offline and restricted networks
Can I use a license completely offline?
Not for a cold start. Verification is an online call to https://miuda.ai/api/verify with a 5-second timeout:
- The result is cached in memory for the life of the process, so a running node does not re-verify on every call.
- If a network error occurs and the key was already verified in this process, the cached result is reused.
- On a cold start with no network access and no cached result, verification fails and the commercial addons stay unlicensed.
If your environment cannot reach the license server at startup, plan for periodic connectivity or talk to sales about your deployment model.
Error messages
What do the rejection messages mean?
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| License has expired | The expiry date has passed. Buy or renew. |
| License is deactivated | The key has been switched off (refund, chargeback, account change). Contact support. |
| License not authorized for this email | The key is restricted to a different authorized email than the one presented. |
| License requires email authorization | The key is restricted to an authorized email, but none was presented. |
| Maximum IP limit reached (N IPs allowed) | Too many distinct IPs have used the key. See above. |
| License key not found | The key does not exist on the server — usually a typo or a truncated/whitespace-padded copy. |
For the raw server response and a fuller diagnostic workflow, see License Activation.
Console text vs server text
The console may display a generic “not valid” message when it does not recognise the server’s exact wording. The server’s reject_reason is authoritative — query /api/verify directly if the console message is unclear.
The key is accepted but the addon still does not work
A license unlocks an addon; it does not enable it. Check that the addon is listed under [proxy] addons in config.toml and that your build actually compiles it in. Also confirm the addon ID in [licenses.addons] matches the registered ID exactly — a hyphen/underscore mismatch leaves the addon unlicensed.

How do I contact sales?
Use the Contact page. Use it for Call Center AI quotes, extra IP allowance, key re-issues, and anything not covered here.
